Item Description
Measures 9.5" tall by 9.5" in diameter at the top rim and 8.75" in diameter at the bottom. Antique Red Wing Union Stoneware 2-Gallon Crock with 4" Red Wing Logo. A wonderful pottery crock made by the Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. of Red Wing, Minnesota. Known as a 2-gallon Red Wing with 4” Wing and a Red Wing Union Oval which was approximately the 5th design of the Oval which came out around the 1930s. The two-gallon crock is the perfect size for display/decor in the kitchen or farmhouse. The overall condition is good and has a chip on the bottom edge (shown in pictures) and the wear is consistent with it's age. Red Wing/Union Pottery introduced the Red Wing Logo around 1906 and was first issued at 6-inches wide, then reduced to 4-inches, and then to the more common 2-inch logo. The Blue Oval Logo at the base tells a more accurate timeline on when this crock was produced. With the combination of the 4-inch wing and the 5th Oval design, this crock dates from the 1930s. A rare vintage collectible (almost a 100 years old!). Categories:
