Item Description

Great to collect or a gift for a new collector! The Sacagawea dollar is special for several reasons, both historically and to collectors. It honors Sacagawea, the Shoshone woman who helped guide the Lewis and Clark Expedition. She is shown carrying her infant son, Jean Baptiste. It has a distinctive golden color. Although many people call it a "gold dollar," it contains no gold. Its color comes from a manganese-brass outer layer over a copper core. For more great coins type 201 into SEARCH. Mead Lake Masters. Because coins are cool.
